History

Husband and wife team Brian and Anna Haughton, from London; have been a strong force in the art market with their stable of international fairs in New York and London.  They boldly entered the American fairs arena with four fairs showcasing leading international dealers, bringing top-end antiques and works of art.  Their success was demonstrated by a multi million-dollar turnover at the fairs and a loyal following among top fine art and antique dealers known for their high reputations and specialised knowledge, as well as museum scholars from all over the world, who benefited from the Haughton’s commitments to high standards which brings together the worlds of academia and commerce.  Many of these curators who are from top institutions such as The Getty Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Louvre, The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, The Cartier Museum in Geneva, The British Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, became regular visitors, buyers and friends.

The Haughton’s aim is to create an International community of interest in art, antiques and design - one in which commerce and academia are at one in promoting appreciation of the fine and decorative arts.

Their roster of fairs included The International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show (October) established in 1989, The International Fine Art Fair (May), established in 1994, The International Asian Art Fair (March – April) established in 1996 and, The International Art + Design Fair (October) established in 1999, all in New York City at the Seventh Regiment Armory at 67th Street, The International Ceramics Fair & Seminar (June), inaugurated in 1982, in London and Art Antiques Dubai (February) in Dubai..
